Clear liquid from the bottle pours smoothly over ice,
Top it up with cola; add a straw and then a slice.

Sip it rather slowly as the night is only young,
One drink leads to another then it all feels rather numb.

Happy hour is looming, it takes you unawares, 
Am I seeing double? The barmen give each other knowing stares.

The drinks are coming quicker, yet the speech starts slowing down,
My legs cease to have much feeling, thankfully I’m not known in town.

I wake up the next morning feeling numb and still quite drunk.
A man lies in bed next to me, I’m thankful he’s quite a hunk!

The moral of this story could not be much simpler;
Drink more cola; add more ice and not quite so much Vodka!
